By Rosella Campbell

Dads and moms around the world generally want their families to have the best. This means they seek out nutritious fruits, vegetables and all kinds of foodstuff that give their children what they need to form healthy cells. It is important for parents to also pay attention to the sort of containers that they use when preparing foodstuff or storing cooked meals. This is why several mothers and fathers prefer to use BPA free plastic containers in their household.

Bis phenol A is popular in several manufacturing processes because it lends strength to materials. Lots of plastics have been made sign it and chemicals which work like it. Baby bottles, soap dishes and spoons are just a few of the items commonly used around the home which may contain this substance or others like it.

The problem with Bis phenol A that it is a hormone disruptor. It mimics the effects of the natural female hormone, estrogen. This means that it fools the body into behaving as though estrogen is present. Estrogen is responsible for thing like the development of breasts in young women and several other traits that are part of a healthy reproductive system.

When girls as young as four or five as exposed to BPA at an early age, they can end up developing breasts and other features that are associated with girls who have gone through puberty. In fact, they start showing these characteristics earlier than they should. They may begin menstruation and even have problems as a result.

Boys are also affected by having BPA in their diet. They will react to any chemical that mimics estrogen and even though they may not have a womb and ovaries, their bodies can change to exhibit female characteristics. Boys who are exposed to high levels of female hormones or substances that act like female hormones can develop breasts.

Baby bottles, plastics that adults carry lunch in, water bottles that are used by joggers and a host of other vessels may all be a source of danger. Those plastics release lots of nasty chemicals when they are heated. However, they do not have to be subjected to heat for them to release toxins. They even leach substances into juice and water when you leave liquids sitting in them for a while.

You can avoid a lot of stress and heartache by examining labels carefully before you make a purchase. Most containers that are made without the label state that clearly on the label. Shopping for what you need is easy whether you browse stores offline or go online when you want lunch bowls, baby bottles or other vessels for your home.

There are many reasons to avoid bis phenol A as much as possible. However, this is not the only toxin that you should stay clear of. Ensure that in the effort to find healthier bottles for your family to use you do not simply end up exchanging one harmful substance for another.
