Locating The Best Marvel Action Figures

By Enid Hinton

Everyone living around the world knows all about "The Invisible Woman, " "Captain America, " "Thor, " "Mr. Fantastic, " "The Human Torch, " "The Thing, " "The Incredible Hulk, " "Spiderman, " "Conan, " "Storm, " and so many more. These are all marvel action figures that have been selling in local toy stores for decades. Fortunately there are so many people who love these characters and certain toy companies will continue to produce them.

Decades ago a great man named Stan Lee introduced a certain woman who was shy and could easily turn invisible. Her name was Susan Storm and she is a very pretty blonde who is the only female member in a team named "The Fantastic Four." This group had Saturday morning cartoon shows and a good comic book which sold well at local book stores. A company named Mego decided to make a statue of "The Invisible Woman" after negotiating with the comic company. This statue would remain true to the book and come with washable clothing.

Mego thought that every kid in America would desire this doll but they were wrong. Even though she did not sell well at the time Susan Storm has now become a rare collectors item that many people want to possess. A certain Barbie doll toy company also did a statue of Susan Storm but it was not a good likeness of her at all.

Sue is married to Reed Richards who is known as "Mr. Fantastic." The Mego company was smart to create this certain item as well. Reed Richard's statue looks just like the comic book character and toy collectors everywhere try to bid on this item. He also sells for a high price if he is still new within his original package. Both Reed and Sue look exactly like the characters presented in the books.

Even though Mego hit it right on the mark with their "Thor, " "Invisible Woman" and "Mr. Fantastic" dolls they really fouled things up with the super gals from DC. Each and every one of these women look the same and they do not even have mature looking faces upon them. It is well known that a certain writer wanted Mego to make the Susan doll exactly like her character in the books.

"Conan" came out around the same time as the "Fantastic Four" statues. Hollywood went on to produce several movies about this character but the latest one was a huge flop. When "Conan" was first introduced he had long hair and later on Mego decided to give him shorter locks. "Classic TV Toys" has decided to remake this doll for the people who cannot afford the original item that was produced years ago.

Decades ago Mego put more quality into their products since they thought very highly of their fans. The only dolls which failed the quality test were the super hero women from DC. Overall the bodies on these dolls are great since they seem to last for a lifetime. Anyone who has seen the movie "The Avengers" is already looking to purchase a "Thor" statue made by Mego.

Fortunately Mego also went ahead to produce "The Thing" and "The Human Torch" from the "Fantastic Four" series. The group would not be complete without these two unique characters. Many fans wish that they would have made the Torch's alter ego who is known as Johnny Storm. Some of the companies around today are making this particular item in order to please fans.
