The Risk-Free Way To Get Into Shape Before Summer

By Vanessa Summer

Bathing suit time of year is coming quickly and this has people taking on different eating habits (shunning those of the winter season) and promising themselves that they will get in shape before the weather prevents them from hiding their bodies under heavy layers of clothing. Lots of people try to take on too much too soon with their workouts because they are so determined to reduce weight and get into amazing shape before anybody will be able to look at their bodies. Sadly, attempting to get a lean body too fast could truly harm your health. Doctors everywhere we look think that it doesn't do you any good to just jump into a regular exercise program. So exactly what you supposed to do if you want to get in shape before bathing suit season gets here?

It is important that you simply see your doctor before you do anything. Ask your physician for a complete system work up and check up. This can help you uncover your best starting point for working out and getting in shape. Your doctor will help you determine how much it is best to weigh and what your body mass index should be as well as letting you know if you have any particular health conditions that you need to remember when you start working to get in shape. Your health care provider can help you put together some food guidelines so that you can also work to get your diet under control.

Start bit by bit. Do not try and run too far too rapidly too early. A very good program for working your way directly into shape is Couch to 5K. This is a system that improves the distance and time you spend running until you're ready to take on a 5K run. Obviously, however, you need to do more than just jogging to get in shape. It is also important that you work on your strength and endurance training. If you don't have time for all of this, try to look for a swimming version of Couch to 5K-this way you'll work your whole body and build all of your systems safely and over time.

Find a support team. Sure gaining excess fat can be uncomfortable, but you stand a better chance of losing weight and getting into shape if you find a few folks to work with. You can work with each other to eat good food and get regular exercise--these are the people who can visit weight loss group meetings with you, exercise with you and more. If you don't want to do this with people in "real" life, you'll find this type of support online. You can subscribe to one of any number of internet based support groups designed to help with weight loss.

The truth, to put it simply, is that it takes time to lose weight plus more time to get in shape. The sooner you start to modify your eating habits and exercise habits the better off you will be. The sooner you start to make your adjustments, the easier it is likely to be to slowly and steadily get into shape. Remember, in this instance, slow and steady is actually the way to go: your body and health will thank you for it come summer time.
